CAF

Introduction

CAF is the federation for African countries. It holds qualifying in the African region for the World Cup. Africa has taken several medals in the World Cup, including a championship when Cote d'Ivoire won World Cup III. Mali took second a few years later in World Cup V while Cote d'Ivoire also won bronze in the same tournament. Senegal won the silver medal in World Cup VI as well and were also the first African team to reach the semifinals as they placed fourth in World Cup I. Nigeria later joined the list of World Cup Runners Up after their run to the final in World Cup VIII.

Africa's continental tournament is the African Cup. Morocco won the inaugural tournament, beating Mozambique in the final.
