Introduction
The Copa America is the continental tournament for CONMEBOL. It was first contested after World Cup VIII.Due to there only being 10 nations in CONMEBOL, the tournament does not have a qualifying phase. Instead, it consists of two groups of five teams playing a single round robin where the top teams advance to the knockout round.
